Prof. Art Blake is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Ryerson University.  Blake is a cultural historian whose research examines how racial, gender and sexual difference shape the visual, sonic and communications cultures of cities. His current research is on urban networks trans and cross-dressing people in the USA, Canada and the UK, 1860s-1960s, established to share advice about clothing and personal style.
